It Takes Guts to be an Engineer

 


What does it take to be an Engineer? A million dollar question many students are afraid to find out what the answer is. In general, Engineering Courses are one of the most difficult and complicated programs offered in college. It includes math, science, a few technical drawings, and a lot of complicated mathematical equations. Engineering is not for the faint-hearted. As you can see in the title, it does take guts to be an Engineer. It offers a wide variety of programs. Whether it be Civil, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, and many more. For this blog, we'll be focusing on the skills and traits that are needed specifically for Mechanical Engineering



Let's first know what Mechanical Engineering is. Who are they? What do they do? Are they important? To answer these questions, Mechanical Engineers are responsible for creating power-producing machines that we now use in our day-to-day lives. Every machine or technology that we use, it's been blessed by the hands of mechanical engineers. They play a critical role in the continuous modernization of our world. Their skills and knowledge helped built advanced technologies that helped nations progress. Overall, without them, there's no modernized world.



To answer the question you've all been waiting for, it takes a brave soul to pursue Mechanical Engineering. For starters, it's not an easy course. You'll be given plates to draw, equations to solve, and compounds to discover throughout your journey. Despite these challenges, it's fun to learn these lessons. It may be hard at first, but when you get the grip through it, you'll be finished in no time.  Second, you need to have a lot of patience for this course. You should understand that one cannot learn a complicated lesson overnight. It requires a lot of reading, watching lectures, and practicing. Remember that to be good at something, you need to practice it every day. Lastly, in pursuing Mechanical Engineering you need to be dedicated to this profession. You'll never be satisfied with what you do if you're not happy. To be dedicated, you need to be fully aware of the reason why you choose this path. Your dedication to this course requires sacrifice. There will be sleepless nights, social gatherings that you will not have the time to attend, and many more but I guarantee you that it will all be worth it.


This journey will not be an easy path. No matter how bumpy or uncertain the road you're taking is, always know that you're not alone. Learn to look back on the people that pushed you to become the person that you are today. They will always be there to guide and help you at times when you feel like giving up. Above all of them, you have yourself. When the time comes when all of them doubt you, you got yourself to count on. Always believe in yourself because you are your greatest asset. When your mind is exhausted from all the loads from your lessons, rest. It's okay to rest, to take time for yourself, to come back stronger. Yes, it takes guts to be a Mechanical Engineer, but you should never be afraid of something you can overcome. Your sacrifices today will be your success tomorrow.
